Reports to: Director of Athletics

Olympic College is seeking for a Head Basketball Coach. This position at Olympic College plays a vital role in supporting the development of student-athletes in a competitive two-year collegiate program. This position assumes responsibility for all aspects of team management, including skill development, practice organization, and competition preparation, ensuring athletes reach their full potential both on and off the court.

Essential Functions

• Lead all administrative responsibilities for the Men’s Basketball program.
• Recruiting within conference guidelines
• Teaching advanced Basketball skills
• Assisting with the monitoring of individual’s academic progress
• Ensuring study hall attendance
• Manage transportation of the team
• Lead fundraising activities
• Encouraging and demonstrating good sportsmanship
• Processing of appropriate institutional and conference paperwork
• Performs other work as required.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

• Experience as a Basketball Coach or Basketball Player.
• Understanding of intercollegiate Basketball rules and regulations
• Current ?rst Aid/CPR certi?cation

Preferred/Desired Education, Experience, and Competencies.

• Bachelor's Degree or equivalent
• Experience at the high school, club or college level
• Experience working in a community college.

Additional Information

Head Coaches will be paid $4,000 annually.

Conditions of Employment

• Prior to a new hire, a background check including criminal record history will be conducted. Information from the background check will not necessarily preclude employment but will be considered in determining the applicant's suitability and competence to perform in the position. In addition to the background check, candidates will be required to complete the Sexual Misconduct Disclosure Form as required WB HB 2327.

• The position requires punctual and regular attendance. Employees must be available to attend practices and games on weekday afternoons and weekends. Recruitment of student-athletes and other related duties continues throughout the year.

• Must be able to perform the essential functions of this position. The employee maybe required to lift and carry supplies and equipment of up to 30 pounds.
