Supervises:

Athletes, assistant basketball coach (if applicable)

Responsibilities:

Spiritual:

The basketball coach shall:

1. Be an active member of a local evangelical church.

2. Be a role model in attitude, speech, and conduct, maintaining a

consistent daily walk with Jesus Christ.

1. Show by example the importance of Scripture reading, study, prayer,
   

witnessing, and unity in Christian fellowship.

1. He/she should lead Bible Studies at the direction of the athletic
   

director and/or president.

1. Follow the Matthew 18:15-20 principle in dealing with students,
   

parents, staff, and administration.

1. Motivate students to accept God’s gift of salvation and grow in their
   

faith.

1. Lead others to a realization of their self-worth in Christ.
   

Institutional:

The basketball coach shall:

1. Recruitment basketball players that reflect Randall values and
   

beliefs.

1. Coordinate recruitment efforts, share information with the
   

recruitment department, and participate in campus-recruitment
activities and events.

1. Communicate the Randall Mission and Purpose statement to
   

prospective students and their parents.

1. Employ a variety of methods and strategies to enhance recruitment
   

efforts.

1. Plan a basketball program that meets the needs of the institution.

2. Fundraise for the basketball program.

3. Be familiar with all NCCAA rules and regulations.

4. Maintain proper eligibility requirements (both NCCAA and Randall)

and coordinate with the academic offices on eligibility.

1. Maintain the basketball field, equipment, and uniforms.

2. Possess a valid Commercial Drivers License (CDL) with a

passenger endorsement.

1. Integrate Biblical principles and Christian philosophy throughout the
   

work environment.

1. Support the broader program of the school by attending extra-
   

curricular activities when possible.

1. Inform the administration if unable to fulfill any duty assigned.

2. Notify the administration of any policy he/she is unable to support.

Professional: The basketball coach shall:

1. Utilize education opportunities and evaluation processes for
   

professional growth.

1. Seek the counsel of the administration, colleagues, and other
   

professionals while maintaining a teachable attitude.

1. Provide input and recommendations for administrative and
   

managerial functions of the university.

1. Attend and participate in scheduled university meetings.

2. Perform any other duties which may be assigned by the athletic

director and/or administration.

Personal:

The basketball coach shall:

1. Demonstrate the character qualities of enthusiasm, courtesy,
   

flexibility, integrity, gratitude, kindness, self-control, perseverance,
and punctuality.

1. Meet everyday stress with emotional stability, objectivity, and
   

optimism.

1. Develop and maintain rapport with prospective students, parents,
   students, and staff by treating others with friendliness, dignity, and
   consideration.

2. Respectfully submit and be loyal to constituted authority.

3. Maintain a personal appearance that is a role model of cleanliness,

modesty, and good taste.

1. Use acceptable English in written and oral communication.

2. Recognize the need for good public relations.

3. Represent the university in a favorable and professional manner to

the constituency and the general public.
