Capital University invites applications for the Head Bowling Coach position. This is a full time, benefit eligible position. This position will be responsible for the overall development and maintenance of the Capital University Men's and Women's Bowling Programs, which will compete in their inaugural seasons in the Fall of 2024 as members of the Ohio Bowling Conference (OBC) and eventually the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA). This individual will need to reflect the beliefs and display the characteristics of the University. This individual will promote the ideals of being a team player, hard worker, a good communicator, and have the willingness to provide the best possible student-athlete experience. Responsibilities include recruiting qualified student-athletes, adhere to the mission, vision, and values of both Capital University and the Athletics Department, and to build on the proud traditions of past Capital alumni.
Primary roles and responsibilities:
Coordinate athletic planning, program development and assessment that focus on student-athlete performance, personal and leadership development:
Oversee and maintain the operations and booster accounts budget management for the men's and women's bowling programs.
Coordinate athletic events and programs that are planned intentionally to enhance the campus community and school pride.
Ensure proper safety precautions are always followed.
Ensure adherence to rules, regulations, and policies of all governing bodies (Capital University, OBC, and NCAA).
Work in coordination with the Director of Athletics, other coaches, and support staff to achieve overall goals established by the athletics department.
Work with other students, faculty, and staff to support the retention of student-athletes and promote teamwork, set high standards support the academic, personal and leadership development of student-athletes.
Correspond with opposing coaches for upcoming contest and monitor contracts for officials and their payment.
Work with and consult athletic trainers regarding mental and physical health and safety needs of student-athletes.
Perform other duties that may be assigned by the Director of Athletics or designee.
