Description

Rockhurst University is seeking applications for a part-time Cheer Coach. Founded by the Jesuits in 1910, Rockhurst is a comprehensive university of 3000 students that offers more than fifty undergraduate, master’s, and doctoral programs taught by nationally recognized faculty. POSITION SUMMARY:Â Â

The Cheer Coach will be responsible for all aspects of developing and coaching the Cheer program. The Cheer Coach will be responsible for student-athlete recruitment, creating a strong game environment, while also supporting a culture that offers a positive student-athlete experience.Â

DUTIES:Â

• Attend cheer events. This includes presence at practices, RU home games, special events, and cheer competitions. Â

• Evaluate academically and athletically qualified student-athletes for recruitment.Â

• Plan and implement instructional practices that maximize the talent and potential of student-athletes, while instilling values such as sportsmanship, leadership, and personal wellness.Â

• Demonstrate the ability to relate to, and motivate, student-athletes and to work with a variety of University staff, alumni, and the outside community.Â

• Promote the mission of the Athletic Department and Rockhurst UniversityÂ

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:Â

• Must have excellent leadership and communication skillsÂ

• Must have previous cheer experience as an athlete and/or coach.Â
