Position Summary

The Part-Time Cheer Coach provides leadership for Whitworth University's cheerleading program by coaching and developing student-athletes, planning practices, choreographing routines, and preparing the team for athletic events and campus appearances. The coach recruits prospective student-athletes, builds team culture, and creates a positive, Christ-centered experience that supports the University's educational mission.

Core Responsibilities

Coach and Develop Student-Athletes | 80%

  • Lead 2 to 3 practices each week during the academic year.
  • Teach proper cheerleading techniques, stunts, safety practices, and game-day performance skills.
  • Design and choreograph cheers, routines, formations, and sideline performances.
  • Foster teamwork, sportsmanship, accountability, and leadership among student-athletes.
  • Evaluate athlete performance and provide ongoing instruction and feedback.
