Job Summary:
The Head Coach, Club Men's Ice Hockey will serve as the Office of Recreations Services day-to-day supervisor of the men's ice hockey program. The position reports directly to the Assistant Athletic Director - Recreation Services, with oversight by the Director of Athletics and Recreation. The Head Men's Ice Hockey Coach will keep the Asst. AD of Recreation Services aware of progress and issues related to activities for the club; practices; competition; and scheduling, maintenance, preparation, and event management issues. The position is responsible for managing the day to day operations of the men's ice hockey program, establishing policies, methods and standards in the administration and operation of the club ice hockey program. The position will require travel with the team to and from competitions.
Job Duties:
Coaching (50%)
Lead practice sessions, ensuring that all appropriate safety guidelines and standards are maintained. Perform specific coaching responsibilities during scheduled events. Work closely with the club sport athletic training staff to ensure the safety of all student-athletes. All practices will be held at Sunbury Ice Rink.
Administrative (50%)
Work with the Assistant Athletic Director for Recreation Services and the club officers in regards to all arrangements for team travel, practice and competition. Participate in any and all fundraising activities as assigned by the Assistant Athletic Director for Recreation Services. Represent the sports program to various institutional programs and externally to the students, parents, faculty, and the general public.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
-Knowledge of the rules and safety requirements for ice hockey (including, but is not limited to teaching techniques and safety measures for student-athletes to compete at the collegiate level)
-Prior coaching experience
-Strong communication (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills combined with the ability to interact with diverse groups
-USA Hockey Level 1 Certification (must maintain certification at appropriate level to meet the current and future levels as defined by the league)
-Must maintain current CPR certification

The offer rate will be based on a review of the candidate's credentials compared to the qualifications of the position, internal equity, and our overall compensation philosophy.
This role is not budgeted for visa sponsorship at this time, all candidates must be authorized to work in the US at the time of submission of the application.
