| Job Summary/Basic Function: |
SUNY Potsdam is seeking a Head Coach for its swimming and diving programs. This is a full-time position. The successful candidate will be responsible for the recruitment and retention of student-athletes, supervising day-to-day operations of the men’s and women’s swimming and diving programs including: coaching, recruiting, practice planning and preparation, competition scheduling, fundraising, budgetary management, strength & conditioning, and academic monitoring. The successful candidate will also be asked to help with pool scheduling and staffing, and will also be required to teach physical education activity classes.

| Job Requirements & Essential Functions of the Job: |
- Identify and evaluate prospective student-athletes
- Engage in communication with prospects through extensive travel, written and verbal correspondence
- Adhere to all NCAA, SUNYAC and SUNY Potsdam compliance policies
- Oversee and direct all aspects of coaching during practice and games
- Monitor academic progress of student athletes
- Coordinate the program’s fundraising activities
- Responsible for the scheduling of contests
- Schedule and staff usage of the pool
- Perform other additional duties as assigned

| Required Qualifications: |
- Bachelor’s degree
- Valid driver’s license
- Ability to work nights and weekends

- Masters’ degree
- Experience coaching swimming and diving at the collegiate level
