The head women’s wrestling coach for Buffalo State University is responsible for all aspects of development, leadership, coaching, and management of a varsity intercollegiate wrestling program.
Consistent with
SUNY
Buffalo State’s, the Division of Student Affairs, and the Department of Intercollegiate Athletics mission and strategic priorities, the head coach will lead the program through planning, direction, and structure to meet with goals of the institution and the team while demonstrating adherence to University, conference and
NCAA
rules and regulations.
Duties include but not limited to participating in hiring of staff; recruiting and retaining top prospective student-athletes; establishing a competitive schedule; coordinating practice planning, skill development, and designing strategies which prepare team for competition; mentoring student-athletes; overseeing development initiatives; organizing camps; and budget management; collaborates with numerous athletic and University units.
Will perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Athletics that are consistent with the skills and abilities related to this position and that address the University’s strategic goals.
This appointment is a College-Year obligation.
Bachelor’s degree; experience coaching wrestling including experience at an educational institution. Knowledge of recruiting and strategies to retain quality student-athletes. Excellent communication and organizational skills. A commitment to the values of
