Typically between the hours of 1pm and 7pm Monday through Saturday. Varies based on practice, and game schedule. Includes afternoons, nights, and weekends.
On Campus
The Head Softball Coach position is a 12-month, limited appointment. The head coach is responsible for organizing and directing of all operations of the UW-River Falls softball program.
Head coach responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
30% Preparing student-athletes and teams for practice and competition
25% Recruiting and retaining qualified student-athletes
15% Organizing, directing, and supervising a staff of assistant coaches
10% Developing competitive schedules and coordinating team travel
5% Operating within allotted program budget, managing team purchases and organizing team fundraisers
5% Promoting the athletic program and attending Athletic Department staff meetings
5% Ensuring compliance with
NCAA
, conference and institutional rules and regulations
5% Related athletics administrative work
Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred;
Coaching and/or competitive playing experience at the high school or collegiate level
Experience recruiting and retaining a diverse group of successful student-athletes
Strong commitment to the academic achievements of the student-athlete
Demonstrated commitment to student-athlete character development
Ability to communicate and organize with student-athletes within the rules and regulations of

Ability to work well within a diverse staff and environment
Ability to set challenging goals and seek continuous improvement
