The Head Coach,
ACHA
D2 Men’s Hockey will lead all phases of the operation of Roosevelt’s American Club Hockey Association (
ACHA
) D2 program under the supervision of the Director of Hockey and in compliance with all institutional and
ACHA
rules and regulations. Responsibilities of the Head Coach include, but are not limited to, practice planning and assessment, supervision of practices and competitions, individual student-athlete instruction and evaluation, academic mentorship, recruitment of prospective student-athletes, and organization of team travel. This is a part-time, administrative exempt position that reports to the Director of Hockey.

Prior experience in assigned program as a coach, participant or related role
Excellent organizational, communication (written and verbal), interpersonal skills and attention to detail
Ability to exercise considerable judgment and discretion in establishing and maintaining good working relationships
Ability to demonstrate a commitment to service excellence by embodying Roosevelt’s core values, mission, and vision in every aspect of the role working with students, faculty, staff, and visitors
A positive and professional demeanor is a must
Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Excel, and Outlook

Prior recruiting experience at the college level
Prior coaching experience at the college level
Basic office equipment (desktop computer, copier/ multi-function device, fax and telephone).
The assistant coach will work in multiple environments, including areas for team practice, competition and recruiting, in addition to an office setting. The schedule will include nights and
weekends and travel with team for competitions, as well as for prospective student recruitment and other duties as assigned.

Facilitate team practices and competitions providing real-time feedback to student-athletes to instruct and motivate to improve their skill-set.
