Position Overview:
The Head Coach for Acrobatics & Tumbling will lead all aspects of the Wheeling University Acrobatics & Tumbling program. This role requires an individual capable of developing a competitive team, recruiting talented student-athletes, and fostering a supportive and inclusive team environment that prioritizes academic success and personal growth.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop, implement, and evaluate a comprehensive program for Acrobatics & Tumbling, including team training, competition strategies, and athlete development.
• Recruit and retain talented student-athletes, ensuring a commitment to academic excellence and personal development.
• Manage the program’s budget, including travel, equipment, and scholarship allocations, in alignment with departmental and university policies.
• Ensure compliance with all institutional, conference, and national governing body rules and regulations.
• Foster a positive, inclusive, and competitive team culture, promoting leadership, accountability, and respect among student-athletes.
• Monitor and support the academic progress and personal development of team members.
• Engage in community service and fundraising initiatives to support the program and its goals.
• Collaborate with Athletics Department staff, university departments, and external entities to enhance program visibility and support.
• Conduct additional duties as assigned by the Director of Athletics.

Qualifications

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred.
• Proven experience as a coach in Acrobatics & Tumbling, with a strong track record of competitive success and athlete development.
• Demonstrated ability to recruit and mentor student-athletes.
• Excellent organizational, communication, and leadership skills.
• Commitment to the holistic development of student-athletes in a collegiate environment.
• Familiarity with relevant institutional, conference, and national regulations.
• Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and travel as necessary.
