Responsibilities
Under general supervision of the Deputy Director/Senior Women’s Administrator, the Head Coach of Athletic Performance is responsible for the management of Athletic Performance program that significantly contributes to the competitive success of CSUN's 19 collegiate sports programs, which are NCAA Division I programs in the Big West Conference. The incumbent oversees the creation and monitoring of all strength and conditioning plans and programs, which maximize the strength, flexibility, agility, etc. of student-athletes, rendering them fit for Division I competition.
Hires and supervises assistant coaches; oversees performance, strength, and conditioning plans; evaluates student-athlete performance and tracks performance metrics; adheres to the University and departmental practices relating to expenditures; and plays a leadership role in marketing, fundraising and revenue generation for the program, department, and University.
As a leader, demonstrates a commitment to student success that is mission aligned with the university’s vision, values and priorities. Establishes an ethical and collegial work environment, promoting a collaborative, accountable and inclusive team. Encourages a courageous and resilient solution-oriented environment by participating in new opportunities to further the mission of the university. Participates in developing initiatives that further support the campus mission with a service-oriented and catalytic mind set. Strengthens employees by being communicative and a talent builder that develops team attributes, furthering departmental goals.
