Responsibilities

Under general supervision of the Deputy Director/Senior Women’s Administrator, the Head Coach of Athletic Performance is responsible for the management of Athletic Performance program that significantly contributes to the competitive success of CSUN's 19 collegiate sports programs, which are NCAA Division I programs in the Big West Conference. The incumbent oversees the creation and monitoring of all strength and conditioning plans and programs, which maximize the strength, flexibility, agility, etc. of student-athletes, rendering them fit for Division I competition.

  • Oversees all instruction plans, methods, approaches, and activities of the Athletic Performance coaching staff to ensure student learning objectives are met. Continuously conducts research to ensure Athletic Performance plans and programs align with evidence-based industry practices.
  • Hires and supervises assistant coaches; oversees performance, strength, and conditioning plans; evaluates student-athlete performance and tracks performance metrics; adheres to the University and departmental practices relating to expenditures; and plays a leadership role in marketing, fundraising and revenue generation for the program, department, and University.
