Key Responsibilities:
Scout and recruit high school and transfer athletes.
Build relationships with recruits, families, and high school and travel ball coaches.
Build a roster that will be competitive on the field, and one that will be successful academically, and represent the institution in a positive manner.
Develop students’ baseball skills to meet team needs.
Develop and implement practice plans and game strategies.
Foster a positive team culture and mentor student-athletes.
Teach college credit courses as assigned.
Monitor players’ academic progress
Ensure each players’ compliance with eligibility requirements.
Analyze performance and adjust strategies accordingly.
Adhere to FCSAA, NJCAA and institutional rules.
Maintain accurate records and documentation.
Manage budgets, travel logistics and equipment.
Be a positive and contributing team member within the athletic department.
Coordinate and assist with field maintenance and surrounding areas.
Assist with the coordination and oversight of housing arrangements for student-athletes.
Plan and coordinate a successful camp program for community youth.
Represent the program at events and fundraisers.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:
Excellent communication, leadership and interpersonal skills and knowledge of discipline/sport taught.
Familiar with the teaching technology applicable to teaching discipline.
Requires walking, standing, stooping, jumping, and running; lifting up to 50 pounds; exposure to bright/dim light, dusts and pollen, extreme heat and/or cold, and wet or humid conditions when the team plays or practices outdoors.
Knowledge of computers, peripherals, and software programs such as Microsoft Office Suite, (ex: word, excel, etc.), as well as website and statistical software.
Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, and be flexible to meet the demands of the College.
