Job Description

Wesleyan College, a current member of the NCAA DIII and Collegiate Conference of the South, seeks qualified candidates for the Head Women's Basketball Coach  position. The successful candidate will be responsible for all aspects of the Women’s Basketball program – including recruiting, scheduling, fundraising, and game day activities. The candidate will be expected to know and adhere to NCAA Division III rules and regulations.  This position reports to the Director of Athletics.  Wesleyan College has been approved and will transition to the NAIA starting in the 26/27 academic year.

Responsibilities 

  • Develop, coach and administer a successful NCAA DII women’s basketball program. 
  • Coach individual student-athletes in the skills necessary for excellent achievement in women’s basketball. 
  • Recruit and develop student-athletes who will successfully represent the institution academically, athletically and socially. Recruiting for NAIA now for the 26/27 academic year. 
  • Attend to details to effectively act on policies necessary and appropriate for managing NCAA, Collegiate Conference of the South, and institutional related compliance. 
  • Monitor and foster student-athletes’ academic success, physical and mental well-being. 
  • Commitment to a positive student-athlete experience. 
  • Facilitate discipline and sportsmanlike behavior at all times; establish and oversee corrective action for breach of such standards by individual student-athletes. 
  • Plan and schedule a regular program of practice, strength and conditioning and competition in accordance with applicable NCAA and Conference regulations. 
  • Supervise assistant coach and other program personnel.
