Description

North Alabama is an NCAA Division I member that successfully competes in the ASUN Conference. This position is responsible for all phases of the women’s beach volleyball program including recruiting quality student-athletes, monitoring the academic success of student-athletes, game preparation and strategy, supervising assistant coaches, scheduling, attending meetings with alumni, enhancing public relations, organizing camps and clinics, fundraising, budget, adhering to NCAA and ASUN rules and regulations, and other general administrative duties. Additional duties include maintaining responsibility for supporting the philosophy, goals, and mission of both the University and its intercollegiate athletics programs.

Essential Job Duties

Teaching/Coaching (51%)

  • Instruct, teach, and coach student-athletes during practice and competitions;
  • Instruct student-athletes on developed systems/concepts, as well as rules and fundamentals of the sport to develop and achieve personal and team goals;
  • Develop sport-specific systems and strategies, with emphasis on tactical components;
  • Provide individual skill instruction, supervision, and motivation to student-athletes;
  • Assess performance and provide practical instructions to student-athletes;
  • Maintain a close working relationship with athletic trainers and strength/conditioning staff in regard to athletic injury, treatment, rehabilitation, and prevention;
  • In coordination with strength and conditioning staff, conduct conditioning programs that include methods of improving power, speed, strength, and overall performance;
