The candidate will use their experience to decide on various training methods and programs for student-athletes on the cheer teams. The successful candidate must be committed to student success and fostering a culturally diverse atmosphere for students, faculty, and staff.
Essential Responsibilities:
Apply NowDirect the Cheerleading Program, including but not limited to: scheduling practices, conducting practices, coaching during home basketball contests - ensuring participants are performing from start to finish of contests, oversight of coaching staff, being prepared to perform during other select contests and University events during the year and aggressively growing the program, including working with Admissions staff on recruiting efforts, initiating and returning phone calls and e-mails to prospective participants, meeting with prospective participants in the afternoon, evening and weekends and coordinating cheer tryouts. Coach and oversight of preparation for cheer teams for regional and national competitions.
Coordinate and oversee the administration of university-wide Initiatives, including but not limited to: the marketing and evaluation of the programs, involvement of students, collaboration with various campus members and budget management.
Thorough understanding of cheerleading and/or coaching.
Coaching experience at the high school, club or college level.
Experience with scheduling and budgeting.
The ability to effectively teach team and individual skills connected with program development.
The ability to work with multiple constituencies including student-athletes, potential recruits, admissions staff, athletic staff, etc.
Excellent organizational and program planning skills.
Excellent oral and verbal communication skills.
Bachelors degree required.
