Apply NowEssential job responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Comply with the Athletic Handbook, especially the philosophy of athletics as well as basic rules of eligibility.
Demonstrate Christian values in attitudes, words and actions at contests, practices, trips, meals, etc. Plan and conduct appropriate practice sessions and off-seasoning conditioning.
Ensure that players and/or coaches conduct daily devotional times.
Verify roster accuracy for eligibility sheets; periodically check with players to ensure academic effort and progress.
Collaborate with Athletic Director on matters of eligibility concerns or questions.
Hire and/or supervise assistant coaches.
Recruit and retain student athletes to the programs.
Represent sport at required conference meetings. Ensure that proper and timely statistical reports are given to conference,
NCCAA
and
NCAA
officials.
Oversee timely response to prospective athletic inquiries. Oversee all recruiting efforts.
Teach, train, and evaluate student athletes.

Minimum Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree strongly preferred
Previous collegiate participation and/or coaching experience preferred
Continually nurture a personal relationship with Jesus Christ; serve as a consistent witness for Jesus Christ; maintain a kind, Christ-like attitude in dealing with and ministering to people within and outside of Northwestern; and faithfully uphold and embrace Northwestern’s mission, doctrinal statement, and Declaration of Christian Community.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Ability to maintain a flexible schedule, working weekends, as well as the ability to travel with team to all scheduled events
Ability to communicate the uniqueness of University of Northwestern – St. Paul to prospective athletes and their parents
Ability to interact with a variety of individuals in a professional, kind, and tactful manner
Basic computer skills
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Ability to pass a background check upon hire and periodically throughout the course of employment
