Under administrative direction, the Head Coach is responsible for the development, oversight, and management of all aspects of the competitive National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division I Men’s and Women’s Tennis programs. The Head Coach leads the following efforts for the Men’s and Women’s Tennis: recruitment of qualified student-athletes with a commitment to academic success; compliance with NCAA, Atlantic 10, and university rules and regulations; budget management; fundraising activities; community development; and organizing and directing camps and clinics. Administers the tennis programs for the athletics department; coaches at all scheduled matches; organizes and conducts all practice sessions; provides one-on-one instruction; oversees student team members’ athletic and academic development.

Schedules and conducts all home matches
Responsible for NCAA compliance
Monitors budget and finances for the tennis programs
Organizes and conducts all practice sessions; provides one-on-one instruction; oversees student team members’ athletic and academic development

Performs other duties as assigned

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Prior head coaching experience required
Proven ability to work independently, prioritize, and complete tasks in a timely manner
Excellent communication skills required for working with diverse groups
Strong written communication skills; excellent organizational skills with accuracy and attention to detail
Ability to maintain confidentiality and discretion handling sensitive matters involving student-athletes
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree; supplemented with five (5) years of related experience; previous collegiate coaching and recruiting experience required; ability to work non-traditional hours including nights and weekends.
