The Head Coach is responsible for the leadership, administration, and competitive success of both golf programs while supporting the mission of Wingate University and the Department of Athletics.

Promote sportsmanship, integrity, accountability, and student-athlete welfare.
Coaching and Student-Athlete Development
Plan and conduct all practices, competitions, and training sessions.
Develop and implement individual and team improvement plans.
Evaluate and utilize appropriate technology and analytics to enhance performance.
Monitor student-athlete progress and provide mentorship in athletic, academic, and personal development.
Foster leadership skills and life preparation opportunities for student-athletes.
Recruiting
Identify, evaluate, and recruit qualified prospective student-athletes who can succeed academically and athletically at Wingate.
Develop and execute a comprehensive recruiting strategy for both programs.
Maintain effective relationships with high school, junior college, international, and club golf coaches.
Manage recruiting budgets and recruiting communications in compliance with NCAA regulations.
Academic Excellence
Promote academic achievement and graduation success.
Monitor academic progress and collaborate with academic support services.
Encourage participation in academic honors and recognition opportunities.
Support the department's goal of maintaining a strong overall student-athlete GPA.
Administration
Oversee all operational aspects of both programs.
Prepare and manage annual budgets responsibly.
Coordinate team travel, scheduling, equipment purchases, and operational planning.
Maintain accurate records and reports as required by the university, conference, and NCAA.
Ensure compliance with all NCAA, conference, and institutional policies.
Fundraising and External Relations
Support the fundraising efforts of the Bulldog Club and Athletics Department.
Cultivate relationships with alumni, parents, donors, and community supporters.
Assist in securing program support through fundraising events and donor engagement.
Represent the golf programs at university and community events.
Compliance and Risk Management
Demonstrate a thorough understanding of NCAA, conference, and institutional regulations.
Ensure program compliance in recruiting, eligibility, financial aid, and playing and practice seasons.
Promote student-athlete health, safety, and well-being.
Work collaboratively with Sports Medicine, Sports Performance, Compliance, and Student Affairs staff.
Community Engagement
Encourage meaningful community service participation.
Serve as a positive ambassador for Wingate University and Bulldog Athletics.
Build relationships with local golf courses, golf professionals, and community stakeholders.
Staff Management
Supervise assistant coaches, graduate assistants, and volunteer coaches as assigned.
Conduct regular staff evaluations and professional development.
Foster a collaborative and positive working environment.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree preferred; master's degree preferred.
Previous collegiate coaching and recruiting experience.
Demonstrated success in recruiting and student-athlete development.
Strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills.
Knowledge of NCAA rules and regulations.
Ability to manage multiple responsibilities and work effectively within a team environment.
Valid driver's license and ability to travel extensively.
Preferred Qualifications:
Collegiate head coaching experience.
Experience coaching both men's and women's golf programs.
Demonstrated success in conference and regional competition.
Experience with fundraising and alumni engagement.
Strong network within junior, amateur, and international golf circles.
