Head Coach – Men’s and Women’s Golf

The University of Jamestown seeks a head coach for men’s and women’s golf. The teams currently compete in the NAIA as a part of the Great Plains Athletic Conference. Next season we will be part of the NAIA competing in the North Start Athletic Association, with the hopes of transitioning to DII and competing in the North Sun Intercollegiate Conference. Competition would start in the fall of 2025 at the DII level. We have submitted our application to the NCAA and are awaiting further approval.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Recruitment – successfully recruit high quality athletes and students, to be successful in the classroom and in their designated sport.
• Player development – provide coaching skills to individuals. Maintain an environment of continuous development and academic success of student athletes.
• Community Engagement – engage in fundraising, alumni, and promote the golf programs.
• Supervision – supervise all graduate assistants and volunteer coaches.
• Communication – good written, interpersonal, and oral communication skills.
• Fundraising – collaborate with the athletic department to raise money for the program.
• Planning – develop practice plans, tournament schedules, travel, etc.
• Sportsmanship – maintain effective interactions in relations to staff, players, media, spectators, and opponents.
• Leadership – excellent work ethic, motivational goals, engagement in Jimmie athletics, assist where needed, and take part in Jimmie athletic success.
• Administrative duties – coordinate with athletic administration, operational handbooks, student handbooks, and facility handbooks.

Minimum Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree (master’s degree preferred)
• Experience coaching.
• Knowledge of NAIA and NCAA rules and regulations.
• Demonstrate leadership skills and experience.
• Experience collaborating with athletes.
