POSITION: Head Coach – Men's and Women's Track & Field, Athletics (FT)
Effective immediately: (FT) Head Coach, Men's and Women's Track & Field – Athletics – Wilmington University.
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree required. The incumbent must have sufficient experience in higher education, in the capacity of faculty and/or administrator, to successfully perform the job. The incumbent must have a demonstrated knowledge of NCAA rules and a commitment to the academic development of student-athletes. Must have excellent communication, customer service, interpersonal and organizational skills. Must be detail-oriented and able to work with diverse populations. Must be self-directed and able to make decisions independently. Must have the ability to multi-task, work independently as well as be creative and innovative. Must be computer literate and proficient in Microsoft Office products. Knowledge of competition and safety rules. Must always represent the University in a professional manner as well as have the ability to maintain professionalism and confidentiality in any situation. Must demonstrate respect for diversity in the workplace and a commitment to creating an inclusive and supportive work environment that values the contributions of all employees.
Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):
• Teach the sport of track and field to student-athletes individually and as a team at the NCAA Division II varsity level.
• Provide overall management of an NCAA Division II varsity track and field team. Includes collaborating on business unit goals, creating individual goals, conducting regular team and individual meetings, and providing performance management.
• Increase roster size on men’s and women’s teams by recruiting athletes for sprints, hurdles, jumps, throws, and middle distance.
• Manage retention of academically and athletically qualified student-athletes.
• Provide instruction to team members including the planning, organizing, and implementation of practice and competition event sessions.
• Provide oversight of choosing appropriate practice facilities to accommodate all event practices.
• Ensure education of student-athletes regarding compliance with NCAA, conference rules and regulations.
• Take and pass the NCAA Recruiting exam annually and be knowledgeable of NCAA rules.
• Abide by all University, CACC, and NCAA Division II rules, including NCAA Bylaw 10.1, Ethical Conduct.
• Ensure a safe environment for the student-athletes. Fosters a spirit of teamwork and unity among department members that allows for cohesiveness, support, and working effectively together to enable each employee and the department to succeed.
• Promote and foster an inclusive and diverse environment for all students, faculty, and staff.
• Perform other duties which may be assigned by the Director of Athletics and/or the Vice President of Student Affairs.
Hours of Employment: Generally, Monday – Friday between the hours of 8:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. Incumbent must be flexible enough with their hours to meet the needs of the department and/or the University. Some weekends and travel may be required.

Salary Range: Commensurate with experience.
