Position Summary
Supervise and direct all aspects of a NCAA Division I men’s basketball program. Supervise the coaching staff and all of their required duties. Oversee the academic progress and development of student-athletes with an emphasis on progress towards graduation.
Schedule games and manage equipment with the framework required by the administration. Oversee and monitor all aspects of a national recruiting program. Oversee all aspects of preseason and regular season practice and game preparation by conducting skill, technique, mental and physical training to prepare for the highest levels of competition.
Assist with all aspects of the promotional and public relations activities of the men’s basketball program and the athletic department. Lead program’s involvement with game and facility management.
Manage the budget in a fiscally responsible manner. Raise funds as necessary to enhance the budget.
Willing and able to assist in the identification and cultivation of potential Name, Image and Likeness supporters.
Assist in directing and developing a comprehensive strength and conditioning program.
Represent the University of New Orleans in a positive manner at any events on or off campus. Head Coach shall at all times abide by rules and regulations of the NCAA and Division I with respect to the administration of the University’s athletic program.
Employee shall at all times conduct themselves in an ethical manner in association with the standards set forth by NCAA Bylaws and University policies and procedures.

Responsible for student-athletes who are qualified academically, athletically and ethically – 5%
Oversee the academic progress and development of student-athletes – 10%
Manage and monitor equipment within the framework required by the administration – 5%
Oversee and monitor all aspects of a national recruiting program – 5%
Manage the budget in a fiscally responsible manner – 10%
Raise funds as necessary to supplement the budget – 5%
Support Name, Image and Likeness efforts to support student-athletes – 5%
Perform radio shows, TV shows and at press conferences – 5%
Assist in community involvement programs – 10%
Perform other duties as assigned by the Vice President, Athletics and Recreation – 5%
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree.
Minimum 5 years of basketball coaching or instruction.
Sufficient knowledge of NCAA rules and regulations.
Track record of recruiting student-athletes that contribute at a high level academically in the classroom.
Thorough knowledge of and commitment with rules and policies of the NCAA, Southland Conference and University of New Orleans.
Ability to establish a good rapport and effective working relationship with players, administration, faculty, staff, alumni and the general public.
Proven administrative, organizational and recruiting skills.
Ability to work flexible hours including nights, weekend and travel as needed.
Desired Qualifications
​Master's degree in an applicable field.
Previous NCAA Head Coaching experience.
