To provide leadership and overall administration of the men’s golf program.
Administer all aspects of a Division I men’s golf program to include coaching, recruiting, scheduling, travel and budget.
Foster the student-athletes while they are on our campus and provide them the necessary leadership and assistance to be competitive, elite athletes who are academically successful.
Be an ambassador for
UTA
and build relationships within the community to help support the program in fundraising and in relationships with golf courses in the
DFW
area.
Strengthen ties with UTA’s golf alumni.
Maintain an atmosphere of compliance with
NCAA
, conference, institutional and department regulations.
Administer camps, clinics and golf tournaments as planned.
Performs other duties assigned.
Bachelor’s degree or 4 years of equivalent experience.
Equivalent experience may include college and/or professional coaching, collegiate or professional playing experience, Pro Caddie, Teaching Pro, or Playing Pro are acceptable. Equivalent experience may be combined to satisfy this requirement.
Ties in the
DFW
area with local golf courses and teaching facilities and familiarity with the Texas Jr. Golf program.
Experience and history of teaching and development of young golfers.
Basic level computer literacy skills (Microsoft Word, Excel and Power Point).
Effective communication and relationship building skills.
Ability to work with a various group of student-athletes, ability to multi-task, professional organizational skills, understand budgeting principles and have knowledge of University, Conference and
NCAA
rules and regulations.
May work in all weather conditions.
May work in extreme temperatures.
