Job Description:
BASIC FUNCTION
Responsible for the overall organization, coaching, supervision, and administration of the Men's Rugby club program.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Adhere to the policies and guidelines set forth by the University, USA Rugby, National Collegiate Rugby (NCR), North Atlantic Collegiate Rugby Conference (NACRC) and Athletic Department.
Instructing student-athletes in the rules, fundamentals, and team concepts of men's rugby.
Planning, organizing, and coaching student-athletes in practice and contest situations (practice and game preparation).
Work closely with the Director of Athletics to monitor and promote satisfactory academic progress and academic success.
Work closely with advancement in rugby fundraising efforts.
Hire, supervise and evaluate assistant coaches.
Comply with all NCAA, USA Rugby, NCR, NACRC, University and Department policies, rules, regulations, and guidelines.
Exhibit the highest degree of Good Sportsmanship, ethical behavior, and professionalism, at all times.
OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Athletics.
Work closely with internal support personnel to include the Athletic Trainers, Sports Information Director, Office Coordinator, Compliance Officer, and Game Management Supervisor in the performance of their duties.
Attend department meetings, designated events, and Admissions Open Houses as directed by the Director of Athletics.
In particular, all coaches and athletics personnel are charged with being knowledgeable of and assuring and monitoring compliance by all student- athletes, staff and assistant coaches with applicable governing constitutions, by-laws, rules, policies, interpretations and regulations of the NCAA, the University and appropriate athletic conference. Staff members shall immediately advise the Compliance Office if there is reason to believe that violations have occurred or will occur and shall cooperate fully in any investigation of possible NCAA or Conference violations.

Valid driver's license in good standing.
ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS:
Incumbent is subject to both inside and outside work and could encounter extreme weather conditions.
Requirements:
Required:
Bachelor's degree.
Must possess current CPR, AED, and First Aid Certification.
Must be registered member of the NCR, in good standing with NCR and rugby conference.
Must complete Rugby's Safety Basics and upload the documents below to the Sport:80 platform:
Introduction to Coaching, Concussion Training, and Rugby Ready.
Must complete a valid Background Check with NCSI which is accessible through their Sport:80 account.
Complete SafeSport Training accessible through their Sport:80 account.
The successful candidate will possess highly developed communication and organizational skills, efficiency in computer usage and a high degree of self-motivation and dedication to all aspects of the intercollegiate program.

Preferred:
A minimum of one to three years of collegiate rugby coaching experience.
Possess current USA Rugby Level 200 Coaching Certificate.
A strong foundation of the rules of men's rugby as a player or coach and a full appreciation and understanding of Rugby rules and regulations is preferred.
