Job Description:

The Department of Athletics at the State University of New York at Oneonta is seeking applications for the position of Head Coach, Men's and Women's Tennis. This is a full-time, 10-month, non-tenure position. The University is a member of the State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) and the Wisconsin Intercollege Athletic Conference (WIAC) and sponsors 21 Division III varsity sports.

Duties include but not limited to:  

• All aspects of coaching, recruiting, administrating, and managing a NCAA Division III Men's and Women's Tennis programs 
• Successful recruitment of academic and athletically talented student athletes 
• Academic monitoring and retention of student-athletes 
• Managing a team budget and scheduling practices and contests 
• Tennis facility oversight 
• Enforcement of NCAA, conference, and departmental rules, regulations, and compliance 
• Participation in student development initiatives 
• Hiring and supervision of assistant coaching staff 
• Team fundraising 
• Supporting game management across the athletic department 

The right candidate will possess the ability to effectively communicate with a range of constituents and contribute to a positive work environment. Supporting game management comprises 25% of the total responsibilities of the position.

Requirements:

Required Qualifications:   

• Bachelor's degree 
• Tennis coaching experience 
• Demonstrated ability to recruit academically and athletically successful student-athletes 
• Effective written, communication, and presentation skills. 

Preferred:  

• Master's degree 
• Knowledge of NCAA Division III rules and regulations 
• Experience supervising professional staff and/or students  
• Experience working with and serving diverse populations
