This position reports to the Director of Athletics and is responsible for the day to day operations of the program, to include, but not limited to: coaching, scheduling, conditioning, contest preparation, scouting, practice planning and execution, budget planning and oversight, fundraising, purchasing and care of equipment, planning and supervision of team travel, and monitoring the personal, academic and athletic development of student athletes in their program. Additionally, this position is responsible for implementing a recruiting plan to attract student-athletes with strong character and academic profiles that aligns with the mission of Occidental College and Occidental Athletics.
In addition to their role as a coach, this position will work collaboratively with various departments across campus including but not limited to Admissions, Student Affairs, Institutional Advancement and Alumni Relations to optimize our community efforts; and, will also be assigned additional duties outside the scope of their program that will be determined based on the individual's skill set.

Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Physical Education, Physical Education and Health or related field to the responsibilities of the position.
Knowledge of SCIAC Conference and NCAA Division III, performance standards, regulations and compliance.
Demonstrated competitive experience as a coach.
Candidates must have a strong demonstrated commitment to the academic achievement of student athletes.
Demonstrated ability to be detail-oriented and thorough; skilled at anticipating and preventing potential problems and handling a wide variety of tasks with efficiency and accuracy. Strong commitment to a quality work product.
Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate verbally, in writing and electronically. Effective interpersonal skills as evidenced in the ability to collaborate with a variety of constituencies. Demonstrated commitment to justice, equity, inclusion & diversity.
Demonstrated skill in adapting to and performing work effectively in high-volume, high accountability, confidential environment with multiple and changing priorities. Effective organizational, logistical, time management and planning skills with the ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks/projects simultaneously, prioritize and fulfill the functions of an office in a timely manner.
Ability to self-motivate and work independently.

Preferred Qualifications
Master’s Degree in related field to position responsibilities.
Three years of head college coaching experience in a higher education institution.
EXPECTED HIRING RATE: $66,560/year
