About Wilmington University: Wilmington University is an NCAA Division II university that competes in the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC), and its main campus is located in New Castle, Delaware, with the WU Athletics Complex located six miles away in Newark. The athletics department sponsors 16 varsity sports.
Wilmington University is a private, non-sectarian university, which offers both undergraduate and graduate degree programs in a wide range of career areas. The University began with a charter class of 194 students in 1968 and now enrolls a diverse student body numbering more than 19,000 annually. The University offers flexible course scheduling with six ways to take a class over a 15-week semester: semester, block, modular, online, hybrid, and fusion courses.
Requirements: Must have excellent communication, customer service, organizational, and interpersonal skills. Must be detail-oriented and able to work with diverse populations. Must be self-directed and able to make decisions independently. Should have the ability to multi-task, work independently, and be creative / innovative. Must be computer literate and proficient in Microsoft Office products. Must demonstrate respect for diversity in the workplace and a commitment to creating an inclusive and supportive work environment that values the contributions of all employees. Must represent the University in a professional manner at all times as well as have the ability to maintain professionalism and confidentiality in any situation.
Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):
• Overall management of an NCAA Division II varsity women’s basketball team.
• Teach the sport of basketball to student-student athletes, individually and as a team at the NCAA Division II varsity level.
• Provide instruction of team members including the planning, organizing, and implementation of practice and competition-event sessions.
• Manage and supervise coaching staff.
• Oversee the academic progress of all student-athletes and provide guidance for how to access student support services when necessary.
• Recruit and retain academically and athletically qualified student-athletes.
• Ensures education of student-athletes regarding compliance with NCAA, conference rules and regulations.
• Ensures a safe environment for the student-athletes.
• Knowledge of and work within the Wilmington University and NCAA Division II missions.
• Understand and work with commitment towards creating an environment supportive of Title IX.
• Promote and foster an inclusive and diverse environment for all students, faculty, and staff.
• Perform other duties which may be assigned by the Director of Athletics and/or VP of Student Affairs.
Hours of Employment: Monday – Sunday: The incumbent must be flexible enough with their work schedule to perform all of the functions of the position.

Salary Range: Commensurate with experience
