General Summary

Recruit, counsel, and coach all student-athletes participating in the varsity sport of Women's Basketball.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

• Adhere to any and all NCAA, Mid-American Conference and Eastern Michigan University policies, rules, regulations, and operational procedures.
• Organize and direct all activities of a varsity sport.
• Counsel and advise student-athletes with academic or personal problems.
• Direct the recruitment of prospective high school athletes to Eastern Michigan University.
• Supervise assistant coaches.
• Supervise Graduate Assistant(s).
• Assist in the scheduling of athletic contests.
• Assist in the preparation and maintenance of the athletic budget.
• Determine the amount and quality of equipment and supplies to be ordered.
• Perform various community service functions such as clinic and speaking engagements.
• Perform fundraising activities.
• Perform related departmental duties as required.

Minimum Qualifications:

A Bachelor's degree is required.

Three years of experience (e.g., recruitment, scheduling, fundraising, and training) in the assigned sports program is necessary.

Knowledge of NCAA policies is necessary.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience in counseling and advising student-athletes with problems is desirable.
