Job Summary

The Head Women's Basketball CoachatAlbanyState Universitywilllead and oversee all aspects ofthe women's basketballprogram, embodying a commitmentto excellence both onand off thecourt.This role demandsadynamic leaderskilled incoaching, recruiting, andmentoringstudent-athletes while fostering a culture of academic achievement,athletic excellence,and community engagement. The successful candidate will ensure adherenceto NCAAregulations, and collaborate closely with athletic staffto achieve program objectives anduphold the university'svalues and traditions.

Responsibilities

• Managesall operational aspectsof thewomen's basketballprogram, includingscheduling,recruiting, andbudgeting management,and compliance withNCAA, SIAC,USGanduniversity regulations.
• Overseesathlete trainingand development, andwellness and ensuresthatall studentathletesaremeeting theguidelinesto maintain academic eligibility andarepositioned to obtain theircollegiate Bachelor'sdegree.
• Developsand implements strategiesforteam performance improvement, including innovativecoachingtechniques and game strategies.
• Fostersand culture of integrity,respect, andsportsmanshipwithin the team,promoting personaland professionaldevelopment among athletes.
• Assists inall departmentalanduniversity-wide dutiesand functions, contributing tothe broader objectivesof the athleticsdepartment.
• Represent the program withinthecommunity and in all public relations and media opportunities, maximizing socialmedia and other digitalplatforms toenhance the program'svisibility and engagement withfans andstakeholders.
• Collaborateswith athletic support stafftoenhance the student-athlete experience,including academic advisors, strength and conditioning coaches, and athletictrainers.
• Performsother duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Physical Education, Recreation, Health, or related field

3 to 5 years of head coaching experience within college athletic programs, demonstrating a successful track record in team development and achievements.

Proven experience in recruiting andretainingstudent-athletes who excel both athletically and academically.

Significant experiencein budget management, strategic planning, and program development within a collegiate sports setting.

Preferred Qualifications

Master's Degree

Experiencein coaching women's basketball atthe NCAA DivisionII levelor higher, with a deep understanding oftheunique dynamics and requirements of women's collegiate basketball.
