The successful candidate will build and sustain a disciplined, accountable team culture while operating effectively within NCAA Division II regulations and institutional resource parameters. This role collaborates closely with athletics administration and campus partners to advance program goals and uphold the university's mission and values.

Responsibilities

 

• Provide overall leadership and management of the women's basketball program, including recruiting, scheduling, budgeting, compliance, and daily operations in accordance with NCAA, SIAC, USG, and university policies.
• Recruit and retain student-athletes who demonstrate both athletic ability and academic readiness to succeed at Albany State University.
• Develop and implement strategies that enhance team performance, player development, and competitive success.
• Foster a disciplined, accountable, and student-centered team culture that promotes academic achievement, personal growth, and sportsmanship.
• Manage program resources responsibly, including scholarship allocations and operational budgets.
• Collaborate with academic advisors, compliance staff, athletic trainers, strength and conditioning, and other support personnel to enhance the student-athlete experience.
• Represent the program and university in community engagement, alumni relations, media interactions, and public appearances.
• Support departmental initiatives and contribute positively to the overall mission and culture of Albany State Athletics.
• Performs other duties as assigned by the Director of Athletics.

Required Qualifications

 

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution.
• A minimum of 3 to 5 years of collegiate coaching experience, including demonstrated leadership responsibilities such as recruiting coordination, program administration, or head coaching experience.
• Proven experience recruiting and retaining student-athletes who achieve success both athletically and academically.
• Experience in program management, including budget oversight and strategic planning within a collegiate athletics environment.

Preferred Qualifications

 

Master's Degree.

Experience coaching women's basketball at the NCAA Division II level or higher.

Experience operating successfully within limited scholarship allocations and institutional resources.

Proposed Salary

 

Salary is commensurate on experience and training.
