The Head Coach, Women’s Lacrosse is responsible for all aspects of planning, managing and developing a successful intercollegiate sports program in accordance with the standards and goals set by William Peace University. This is a full-time position, with a general schedule including the traditional season, non-traditional season, and recruiting efforts.
ESSENTIAL
DUTIES
AND
RESPONSIBILITIES
:
Reporting to the Director of Athletics, the individual holding this position is responsible for, but not limited to, the following duties:
· Provides leadership and supervision in all aspects of the Women’s Lacrosse program including: recruitment, retention, academic support, practice preparation, game strategy, alumni development, fundraising, and community service
· Recruits student athletes who meet the University’s admissions requirements. Meets annual recruitment goals as developed annually by the Director of Athletics including the evaluation, contact, and establishment of recruitment relationships with prospective student-athletes and coaches. Utilizes Front Rush software for recruiting communication
· Coordinates and outlines a complete, strategic recruiting yearly plan to identify quality student athletes
· Ensures compliance with all University,
USA
South Conference, and
NCAA
rules and regulations related to recruiting and academic monitoring for student athletes
· Collaborates with the Office of Athletic Communications for the positive promotion of the Women’s Lacrosse program. Areas included: individual and team statistics, media guides, reports to
NCAA

USA
South Conference, individual accolades on and off the field and website updates
· Ensures department and university regulations are understood by and complied with by student athletes and coaching staff
· Represents the University at athletics meetings pertaining to Women’s Lacrosse, including

South Conference meetings
· Develops an annual operating budget and oversees the purchasing, distribution, and collection of equipment
· Displays a commitment to the principles of sportsmanship and ethical conduct as per the
NCAA

South Conference
· Performs planning, organization, and execution of on the court coaching duties as described and directs practice sessions and competitions
· Performs game day organization and assignments
· Evaluates opponents and develops a plan in accordance with each contest
· Attends staff meetings as scheduled by the department
· Develops team expectations and policies
· Responsible for supervision, instruction, and direction of student-athletes
· Develops, supports, abides by, and enforces all academic guidelines and policies of William Peace University, athletics department, and program to ensure academic progress of the student-athlete as directed by the department
· Supports and works cooperatively with Sports Medicine/Athletic Training, Strength and Conditioning, Equipment, Student Life, Life Skills,
NCAA
Compliance, Media Relations, etc. areas in accordance with department policies and procedures
· Directs all administrative functions of the program
· Performs duties with professional conduct, being fiscally responsible, and with a commitment to student-athlete’s well-being
· Builds quality relationships and works collaboratively and professionally with Athletics, Pacer Club, and William Peace University staff, faculty, students, and all constituencies and stakeholders
· Additional duties will be assigned (based on qualifications and departmental need) by the Director of Athletics
· Works with a diverse population of prospective student athletes, students, families, employees, and guests
SUPERVISORY
RESPONSIBILITIES
:
• Supervise Assistant Coaches and Volunteer Coaches in all aspects of team management.
• Responsible for ensuring that all Assistants are in compliance with both
NCAA
and William Peace University rules and regulations.
• Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training Assistant and Volunteer Coaches; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; and addressing complaints and resolving problems.

• Possess a comprehensive knowledge of current trends and best practices in the sport of Women’s Lacrosse.
PHYSICAL
DEMANDS

· Ability to lift and carry up to 25 pounds regularly and up to 75 pounds occasionally
· Must be available to work a non-traditional, varying schedule that may include early mornings, afternoons, evenings, weekends, overnight travel, and occasional holidays.
· Exhibit manual dexterity to operate both office and sport related equipment
· Ability to see and read a computer screen and printed material with or without vision aids
· Speak in audible tones so that others understand clearly, adjusting to a louder volume at practices, games, and other events as required
· Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
· Frequently is required to stand and reach with hands and arms.

· Bachelor’s Degree from a recognized college/university
· Master’s Degree preferred in Exercise and Sports Science, Physical Education, Sports Management or other related field.
· Collegiate coaching and/or playing experience.
