Job Summary:
The Head Coach is responsible for the development and maintenance for an effective and competitive NCAA Division III athletic program. The recruitment and retention of quality student-athletes in this program will be integral to this position. The Head Coach is responsible for all aspects that relate to the athletic program to include the ongoing development of the student-athletes. The Head Coach will also be expected to demonstrate the ability to promote the physical, intellectual, and social growth of student-athletes.
** Duties/Responsibilities:**
Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 3 years of experience in high school coaching, recruiting, practice and match planning, skill instruction, team culture building, and competencies in administration and budget management of a team, or an equivalent combination of experience, education, and training.
Master’s degree preferred. Collegiate level coaching preferred. First Aid/CPR/AED certification preferred at time of application, and required as a condition of employment.
Physical Requirements:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to sit and use hands and fingers, to handle, or feel. The employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, and climb or balance. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision. The employee must occasionally travel to meetings and conferences off campus, which may include some overnight travel.
Directly supervises 1-3 regular staff and possibly several work-study students. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
