This position is classified as a 12-month full-time at-will employment appointment with coaching (teaching) responsibilities. Head Women’s Soccer Coach is primarily responsible for coaching and student-athlete instruction of all participants in the soccer program.
II. Functional Description
1. Exhibit a high level of expertise in regards to teaching, instructing and coaching soccer;
2. Responsible for recruiting, developing, coaching and promoting the soccer program;
3. Monitors academic progress of student-athletes, completes and submits required documents;
4. Fulfilling such other related duties that might arise or be assigned by Director of Athletics;
5. In addition, must be thoroughly familiar with and comply with all University, NCAA and Conference policies;
6. Must work well with and respect other Department of Athletics staff members, both coaches and administrators;
7. Must work well with university internal contingency groups such as faculty, staff, and university administrators;
8. Must work well with outside contingency groups such as the press, fans, donors, and the overall general public;
9. Is able to recognize fund-raising opportunities that arise and attend fundraising events when possible;
10. Must treat the University, Conference, and NCAA academic requirements necessary for progress toward degree as a matter of highest priority for the student-athletes in their charge and must actively encourage them to succeed academically and graduate;
11. Must have the fortitude to discipline improper behavior by student-athletes following the guidelines set forth in the Department of Athletics Student-Athlete Handbook and University Code of Conduct;
12. Must respect the rights and dignity of each student-athlete and display sensitivity to problems that may arise from racial and ethnic differences within a diverse student body;
13. Must represent the University AT ALL TIMES on the highest professional level with dignity, integrity, honesty and strength of character;
14. Realizes failure to abide by these policies may be interpreted as a FAILURE IN LEADERSHIP and may result in appropriate disciplinary action, including possible reprimanding, suspension or termination.
III. Position Requirements
The ideal candidate will have experience in teaching, instructing and coaching the sport of soccer at the college level. Past Head Coaching experience is highly preferred.
SALARY : $45,000 - $50,000
