SOCCER
Comply with the Athletic Handbook, especially the philosophy of athletics as well as basic rules of eligibility.
Demonstrate Christian values in attitudes, words, and actions at contests, practices, trips, meals, etc. Ensure that players and/or coaches conduct daily devotions.
Responsible for all practice sessions and game arrangements (transportation, food money). Oversee ordering of supplies and equipment, monitoring department budget.
Verify roster accuracy for eligibility sheets; periodically check with players to ensure academic effort and progress; coordinate with athletic director any eligibility concerns or questions.
Verify with Athletic Office that game day requirements are completed at least one day in advance.
Hire and supervise assistant coaches.
Represent program at required conference meetings. Responsible to respond in a timely manner to prospective athlete inquiries. Responsible for total women’s soccer program recruiting effort.
Update annually season records, team statistics and individual marks. Ensure that proper and timely statistical reports are given to the
UMAC
conference and the
NCAA
. Coordinate end of season awards banquet with Athletic Director.
Teach, train and evaluate student athletes.
INTRAMURAL
SPORTS
Develop, implement and evaluate the offerings of the intramural program. Monitor and evaluate the intramural budget.
Annually review and up-date the intramural handbook. Hire and supervise the work of students assigned to IM through the work study programs. Schedule all activities including workers, teams, and facilities.
Select, purchase and maintain IM supplies and equipment. Maintain up to date accurate records of all IM scores and participation.
Issue and distribute publicity, schedules and results for all IM events.
Conduct informational and training meetings for managers of in all recognized intramural sports.
File an annual report of the IM program including expenditures, results, record of participation and recommendations for future programs.

Minimum Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred
Previous collegiate participation and/or coaching experience preferred
Continually nurture a personal relationship with Jesus Christ; serve as a consistent witness for Jesus Christ; maintain a kind, Christ-like attitude in dealing with and ministering to people within and outside of Northwestern; and faithfully uphold and embrace Northwestern’s mission, doctrinal statement, and Declaration of Christian Community.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Ability to maintain a flexible schedule, working weekends, as well as the ability to travel with team to all scheduled events
Ability to communicate the uniqueness of Northwestern to prospective athletes and their parents
Ability to interact with a variety of individuals in a professional, courteous and tactful manner
Knowledge and understanding of basic computer skills
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Ability to pass a background check upon hire and periodically throughout the course of employment
