POSITION SUMMARY:
Under the general direction of the Director of Athletics, the Head Women’s Soccer Coach is responsible for supervising, planning, and coordinating the activities of the University women’s soccer program.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Identifying and recruiting athletically and academically qualified prospective student-athletes to achieve roster goals and competitive success.
Organizes, schedules and leads training sessions, game preparation and strategy, and off-season training regime.
Hiring, supervising and evaluating assistant coach and program volunteers.
Oversees administrative duties including scheduling, team travel, budgets, student-athlete eligibility and academic process.
Supports academic goals and maintains a high academic standard.
Attends all mandatory coaches/staff meetings.
Works with the Assistant Athletic Director for Budget to create and adhere to the women’s soccer program budget.
Performs other duties as assigned by the Director of Athletics in conjunction with the women’s soccer program.
Remains competent and current through self-directed professional reading, developing professional contacts with colleagues, attending professional development courses, and attending training and/or courses as required.
Completes other duties as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS:
Minimum qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree an accredited institution or an additional four years of coaching experience
4-6 years of demonstrated coaching experience at the collegiate or club level or any equivalent combination of experience and training
Knowledge of and the ability to ensure compliance with NCAA Division I and conference rules and regulations and to operate within these guidelines
Strong leadership, supervisory, and communication skills
Availability to work nights and weekends as well as travel for away games
Ability to work in a team environment as well as independently
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with the University Community
Ability to initiate and follow through with work responsibilities
Valid driver’s license required
Preferred qualifications:
2+ years as a head coach at the collegiate or club levels
Competitive success within an NCAA program
Experience working with and improving the performance of student-athletes
Leadership experience
