Essential Job Responsibilities:
1. Recruit prospective student athletes that allow program to be in a position of competitive leadership in the Great Southwest Athletic Conference. This will include talent evaluation, coordinating mailings, telephone calls, email exchanges, monitoring complete recruitment process, on campus and off campus in person contacts. Maintain minimum amount of eligible student athletes on active roster through retention.
2. Plan, develop, and direct all team training and conditioning activities in the traditional and nontraditional segment at a level that will place program in a position of competitive leadership in the California Pacific Conference. Create an environment of academic achievement through tracking of academic performance, social skill development and character development.
3. Responsible for planning, development and direction of operating and fundraising budget within University and departmental procedures. Attendance at specified department fundraising events. Assist in the planning of team specific alumni events, as well as developing new opportunities through alumni networks. Work effectively with the Director of Athletics to satisfy philanthropic and revenue generation outcomes.
4. Responsible for adherence to all NAIA, Great Southwest Athletic Conference (GSAC) and institutional rules and regulations, including eligibility and compliance of student athletes, medical hardship documentation and extension waivers. Responsible for identifying and discussing various solutions to eligibility and compliance issues and concerns. Responsible for providing NAIA Compliance Officer with notification and solution on student-athlete academic and social concerns. Adherence to all Benedictine University Mesa and Department of Athletics Policies and Procedures.
5. Assist the Athletics Department in various initiatives assigned by the Director of Athletics and other University officials.
Other Functions:
1. Develop relationships within Benedictine University and the University community.
2. Attend departmental and University related meetings and events.
3. Maintain positive student athlete assessments for program from student athletes.
4. Work in coordination with University offices and departments to coordinate and facilitate University events.
5. Maintain positive relationships with alumni, parents, students, officials, volunteers and fans.
6. Serve on University, conference and national committees, as needed.
7. Positively promote Benedictine University Mesa and the Department of Athletics on campus and in the community.
Required Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor's Degree Required, Master's Degree Preferred
Experience: Previous collegiate coaching preferred.

Specific Knowledge, Licenses, Certifications: Yes. Organizational skills, writing and typing skills, interpersonal skills, data entry and budget management skills and demonstrated supervisory skills.
Valid Driver's license
CPR/First Aid/AED certification required.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to handle varying levels of stress while maintaining professional demeanor. Possible lifting, bending, walking, kneeling, stretching, and stooping. Frequent districtwide and statewide travel; frequent prolonged and irregular hours; outdoor exposure to sun/heat or cold weather.
Ability to speak clearly so listeners can understand. Understand the speech of another person.
