Head Cross Country and Distance Track Coach
Duties include, but are not limited to management and development of all aspects of a collegiate Cross Country and Distance Track program: coaching, recruiting, scouting, scheduling, budget and scholarship management, supervision of assistant/student coaches, academic monitoring, development of team policies and procedures, development and implementation of off-season conditioning, knowledge of and adherence to college, conference, and

rules and regulations, as well as marketing and fund-raising for the program.

Head Cross Country and Distance Track Coach
Duties include, but are not limited to management and development of all aspects of a collegiate Cross Country and Distance Track program: coaching, recruiting, scouting, scheduling, budget and scholarship management, supervision of assistant/student coaches, academic monitoring, development of team policies and procedures, development and implementation of off-season conditioning, knowledge of and adherence to college, conference, and

rules and regulations, as well as marketing and fund-raising for the program.
Recruiting and scouting and work with Admissions staff in student athlete recruiting efforts
Scheduling of practice times and facilities in conjunction with Athletic Director to develop the team’s greatest potential
Adherence to department budget and scholarship management
Supervision of assistant and student coaches and all phases of team in the program
Academic monitoring
Develop and implement team policies and procedures
Off-season conditioning
Communication and enforcement of College, conference and

rules and regulations to team as well as adherence to rules/regulations in use of state-owned vehicles
Monitor eligibility program, and complete requisite eligibility paperwork
Fundraising for program
Ensure student athletes have complete eligibility forms and physical forms; ensure proof of insurance, parent consent forms and medical history forms for student athletes are current
Make arrangements and ensure insurance requirements are in place for team trips
Other duties as assigned
Secondary Duties:
Committee assignments within the athletic department
Responsible for care of equipment and facilities being utilized
Provide reports and information as requested to Athletic Director and Campus administration
Formulate objectives for upcoming season
Evaluate current/past season performance
• Bachelors degree required;
• Must possess an ability to work in an environment where the education, welfare, and graduation of student-athletes receive primary emphasis;
• Proven managerial and fiscal skills required;
• Must have demonstrated, excellent interpersonal and communication skills and work effectively with the campus community and outside constituencies;
• Must follow all rules and regulations of the College,

, and
HEART
athletic conference.
Masters degree preferred preferably in physical education or related field.
Previous coaching experience at the college and/or high school level preferred.
Previous recruitment experience helpful.
Strong leadership skills with the ability to communicate and develop a culture of excellence.
Valid Driver’s License
Offers depend on successful background check.
