The selected candidate will help ensure the program operates and conducts itself within the ideas, goals, rules and regulations set forth by Newberry College. This position reports directly to the Director of Spirit Programs. The successful candidate provides leadership, organization, supervision, instruction, and strategic planning for the Wolves dance program.

• Foster an atmosphere promoting academic success and personal development.
• Ability to choreograph and create performances of all genres (Pom, Jazz, Hip Hop).
• Meet Recruiting and Retention goals.
• Establish an effective communication plan with student-athletes.
• Conduct practices in a safe environment.
• Effectively manage their budget.
• Fundraise for additional program needs.
• Schedule safe and efficient travel to competitions.
• Implement an effective community service plan.
• Promote the dance program in the community.
• Order equipment to serve the needs of the program.
• Maintain an accurate inventory of uniforms and equipment.
• Meet weekly with Sprint Director.
• Other responsibilities as assigned by the Director of Spirit Programs.

EDUCATIONAL OR OTHER HIRING REQUIREMENTS FOR THE POSITION
Bachelor’s degree required. Previous dance coaching and choreography experience is preferred. This is a part-time position.
