Limestone University, a Division II college, invites applications for the full-time, 12-month position of Head Dance Team Coach.
Job Overview- The successful candidate will facilitate all aspects of the program including but limited to the following:
Lead the recruiting process of prospective student athletes. Assist them with required information for admission to the school. Provide continuing conversations and contacts to prospective student/athletes. Guide them through the enrollment process. Coordinate the process for signing each athlete’s letter of intent once they commit to LU. Recruit student athletes that are a “good fit” with the University as well as to the athletic team. Meet enrollment targets including the retention of student athletes.
Possess knowledge of rules, regulations, strategies & techniques of the sport and utilize ethics in coaching techniques and in injury prevention.
Appropriately manage the overall program scholarship budget.
Appropriately manage the program budget including expenses related to team travel, contest officials (when applicable) and team equipment/supplies.
Provide direct supervision and training of dance team members during athletic sporting events (home and away football games during the fall semester, men’s and women’s home basketball games during the spring semester).
Plan and organize all aspects of team practices and team meetings.
Create and teach choreography for various routines and game day material.
Plan and organize travel and attendance to NDA Nationals and NDA Camp should the team qualify.
Manage team social media accounts.
Facilitate team member development, oversee academic progress and enhancement of student-athletes, and other duties needed to continue the success of the program.
Work with sport administrator to follow compliance with Limestone University Athletics Department protocols.

Requirements A Bachelor’s degree is required along with a commitment to and responsibility for adhering to all rules and regulations of Limestone University. Candidates must have previous successful coaching or instruction experience. USA Cheer Certification is desired but must be obtained once hired. Experience as a collegiate dance team member or a strong background in dance is required. The selected candidate must be willing to consent to, and pass with satisfactory results, an investigative consumer report.
