Apply NowThis is a temporary position with an end date of June 30, 2024 and the position is not eligible for benefits. The Head Esports Coach provides oversight, supervisions, administration, marketing, and for the developing student-athletes and league programs for the
CSC
Eagle Esports program. The coach is also responsible for summarizing program data, along with related assignments, to assist with program direction. Will also direct program resources, develop needs, and recruit and retain students.
Establish a vision for the esports program by further establishing, publicizing, and promoting the program
Manage all aspects of the esports teams including players and game leads
Plan practices, define competitive priorities, and assist players in improving their skills and performance
Responsible for esports rosters, in-game names, and accounts used as well as evaluation of game needs, program capacity, and talent pool
Review and report player eligibility to league in accordance with division, game, and tournament rules
Oversee all practices and matches held by team members ensuring game integrity and player safety and travel with team to on-site competitions as needed
Develop recruiting and retention plans including scholarship recommendations
Participate in recruiting events and assist admissions counselors in school tours, player inquiries, and related events
Report student roster as well as recruiting and retention efforts as needed
Develop sponsorships with businesses and other outside entities to support the esports program
Work with IT to ensure technology needs and arrangements are met
Maintain a high level of professionalism on and off the field toward student athletes, other coaches, parents, administrators, and members of the community
Maintain a clear understanding and adhere to the League rule books and Codes of Conduct
Develop and maintain internal structures for player relationships and expectations
Respond to developing changes and best practices in the gaming community in this rapidly growing sport
Coordinate events for championships for larger campus involvement
Coordinate social media for
CSC
Esports
Manage esports email and make recommendations for webpage adjustments;
Direct semester tryouts and communicate results with administration
Develop long-term program goals and benchmarks for meeting these goals
Other duties as assigned
High school diploma or
GED
Prior experience in online gaming and competitions.
Willingness to work varying hours including nights and weekends
Bachelor’s degree
Experience in Microsoft Office applications, Discord, Twitch, social media, and other esport applications
Experience in social media & management
Strong recruitment skills
The physical requirements for this position may include, but are not necessarily limited to, the ability to use a computer, calculator, telephone, keyboard, and/or various types of office equipment. Must be able to effectively communicate in verbal and written formats and satisfactorily perform the functions of this position.
