The Head Women’s Flag Football Coach’s primary responsibilities include recruiting high-caliber student-athletes, retention of students and helping direct student-athletes towards a quality educational experience to obtain the goal of a degree. The successful candidate will assist in continuing to develop and build upon a successful women’s flag football program and individual coaching philosophy through recruiting, off-season programs, practice planning, and in-season execution.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:
Program Leadership: Direct all phases of the competitive program, including strategic game planning, practice design, scheduling, and overall team culture.
Recruitment: Identify, evaluate, and successfully recruit qualified student-athletes who meet the academic and athletic standards of Rockford University.
Student-Athlete Development: Monitor and support the academic progress and graduation rates of team members. Foster a holistic environment focusing on leadership, character development, and physical well-being.
Compliance: Ensure full compliance with all NCAA Division III, Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference (NACC), and university rules, regulations, and policies.
Community & Alumni Engagement: Serve as an enthusiastic ambassador for Rockford University flag football. Actively engage with local high schools, youth leagues, alumni, and the greater Rockford community to promote the program.
Administrative Management: Manage the program budget, organize team travel logistics, and oversee the procurement of apparel and equipment. Supervise assistant coaches and support staff.
Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Prior competitive coaching experience at the collegiate or high school varsity level required. Specialized experience in flag football or high-level tackle football coaching is highly preferred.
Demonstrated ability to successfully recruit and retain student-athletes.
Strong knowledge of flag football rules, offensive/defensive strategies, and skill development.
Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
A strong commitment to the mission and values of NCAA Division III and a diverse student body.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor’s Degree required; Master’s preferred.
3-5 years college coaching experience preferred.
A valid driver’s license and personal automobile insurance
