, conferences, and university rules and regulations; direct and coordinate the planning, organizing, and coaching of the Mississippi Valley State University football team; provide leadership and instruction in the personal and athletic development of student-athletes at Mississippi Valley State University; study, evaluate and implement innovations in football strategy and equipment; and demonstrate professional integrity.

Attend departmental staff meetings as established. Performs other related duties as assigned by the Athletic Director as deemed necessary to aid in the efficient operations of the department.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree. Successful

NCAA

coaching experience as a head coach or assistant coach with winning programs or equivalent experience. Ability to recruit in high schools and junior colleges, primarily in Mississippi and the surrounding states. Demonstrate administrative and public relations abilities. Concern for academic and athletic preparation of student-athletes. Ability to establish good rapport and working relationships with student-athletes, coaching staff, administration, university personnel, and the general public. Demonstrate knowledge of the ability to comply with

NCAA

, conference, and university rules and regulations.

Preferred Qualifications

Master’s degree. Competitive experience as an intercollegiate football player. Successful head or assistant coaching experience at the

NCAA

Division I level.

Physical Demands

Ability to work in noise, heat, cold, odors, dirt, outdoor temperatures, snow, and difficult situations.

Ability to repetitively grasp and manipulate objects of varying size and weight requiring fine motor skills and hand-eye coordination.

Ability to exert oneself physically over sustained periods to complete job activities.

Ability to stand a minimum of 6 hours during the workday.

Ability to work some weekends, occasional holidays, and inclement weather.

Ability to repetitively lift, carry, and position objects weighing up to 50 pounds without assistance.

Ability to repetitively push and pull objects weighing up to 50 pounds without assistance while kneeling; squatting; reaching above the head; reaching at the waist; reaching below the knees; and bending at the knees.

Ability to repetitively push and pull equipment (for example, football sleds, dummies, and pads) a minimum of 10 yards without assistance.

Ability to climb a ladder or scaffolding to enter/exit a press box, get to a filming location, or similar situations.
