POSITION DESCRIPTION & DETAILS
Bismarck State College is on the move, and we’re looking for a strong leader ready to step up to the plate as our next Head Football Coach. This is more than just a position—it’s an opportunity to set the tone, build the team, and take our athletic program to the next level as we continue to grow.
What You'll Do
- Recruit and develop the required number of intercollegiate-level student-athletes for the football team who will successfully represent the institution academically, athletically, and socially according to the program requirements specified on the employment contract
- Recruit talent, skills, and ability within the Bismarck State College, State Board of Higher Education, North Dakota State, and National Association of Intercollegiate Athletes (NAIA) rules, compliance, and regulations
- Support and coordinate the football student-athletes by implementing action plans through the appropriate staff or utilizing the Learning Skills Center when needed
- Facilitate sports techniques, rules, strategies, and playing tactics
- Manage the football operations budget
- Coordinate the purchase, inventory, repair, and maintenance of uniforms/supplies
- Schedule, supervise, and support practices, and the strength training/conditioning coach, including attendance, intensity, and work ethic
- Assist the Athletic Director with the management of assistant coach(es)
- Conduct post-season analysis, player development, and summer training programs
- Promote the program through community events, public speaking, fundraising, and marketing
- Other duties as assigned by the Athletic Director

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor's degree
- Minimum 3 years' NAIA or NCAA collegiate head, defensive coordinator, or offensive coordinator coaching experience
- Minimum 3 years' collegiate recruiting experience
- Effective public and interpersonal communication skills
- Knowledge of football competition, rules, and strategies as they relate to the collegiate athletics
- Leadership and motivational skills, and the ability to serve as a positive role model
- Ability to explain college programming and connections to the football program to potential students and the community
- Ability to organize and implement fundraising projects
- Ability to build and sustain successful intercollegiate athletic programs
PREFERENCES
- Master's degree
- Regional collegiate coaching experience
