Job Summary

The position has primary responsibility for assisting in the development of all phases of an intercollegiate Golf program. The purpose of the position is to develop Christ-centered excellence, to mentor and challenge student athletes to grow spiritually, academically, and athletically. Abide by rules and regulations established by Wilberforce University, the NAIA (National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics).

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Manage and plan all aspect of Wilberforce Golf program
• Plan practices and tactics
• Plan pre-season and in-season training and conditioning of student-athletes
• Manage recruiting records and correspondence
• Spearhead all recruiting evaluations and campus visits
• Coordinate team travel and competition scheduling
• Commitment to and responsibility for adhering to all rules and regulations for the University, the department, and the NAIA
• Work compatibly and cooperatively with the staff and personnel of the athletics department
• Assist with community service and fundraising events as requested
• Other duties as assigned by athletics director

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

• Must have proven ability to evaluate talent
• Must demonstrate good organizational, communication, and public relations skills
• General computer skills, including Word for MS Windows

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree (preferred)
• Coaching high school or collegiate Golf coaching experience; or played on the college level.
• Available to travel to all schedule matches
