Job Summary - The head coach is responsible for leading, guiding, and mentoring the Tennis program in a
positive Christian manner, including compliance with National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA), and
American Southwest Conference (ASC) regulations. The coach accepts and delegates tasks from the Director
of Athletics and Assistant Director of Athletics. The coach provides leadership for a program that contributes to
the holistic development of students.
Minimum Qualifications – Bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year college or university is required;
Master’s degree is preferred; or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination
of education and experience.

Director of Athletics and Assistant Director of Athletics. The coach provides leadership for a program that
contributes to the holistic development of students.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities - Monitor, mentor, coach, and recruit student-athletes participating
in the athletic program. The primary duty is to make independent decisions in the recruiting process as to
who will be recruited by the university and what schools will be visited. Duties also include the following
areas: practice planning and implementation, scheduling games, budget planning, compliance, fundraising,
marketing, travel, facilities supervision, maintaining equipment, supervision of student assembly and chapel,
and the academic success of student-athletes. Organizational abilities, communication skills, enthusiasm,
and loyalty are valued attributes. The coach must also have a working knowledge of skills and strategies
related to the sport and may teach 1 to 3 hours per semester. College playing experience and three years of
college coaching are preferred but not required.

Supervisory Responsibilities – The coach will supervise 16-20 student-athletes regarding class
