Juniata College invites applications for a full-time, twelve-month position of Head Men’s and Women’s Wrestling Coach with a starting salary of $ 55,000. Juniata is a co-educational, liberal arts college, highly regarded for its academic excellence, with an enrollment of 1,300 students.
This position provides leadership and oversight of all aspects of the men’s and women’s wrestling programs, including recruiting, student-athlete development, practice and competition planning, budget management, and supervision of assistant coaches. The role will also assist in the development and oversight of the Glaeser Training Center , where both programs will train.
Juniata is a founding member of the highly regarded Landmark Conference, which is committed to conducting intercollegiate athletics programs in a way that recognizes, as paramount, the centrality of the academic mission at each member institution.
Typical Duties and Responsibilities:
The Head Men’s and Women’s Wrestling Coach is responsible for all aspects of the Men’s and Women’s Wrestling programs at Juniata, including but not limited to:
• Provide vision and leadership to build a positive team culture centered on student-athlete welfare, academic success, citizenship, and competitive excellence.
• Oversee scheduling and facility use for the Glaeser Training Center in the role of Head Men’s and Women’s Wrestling Coach.
• Plan, organize, and conduct all practices and training sessions; develop and implement effective skill development programs.
• Prepare teams for competition, including scouting, strategy development, and in-competition coaching.
• Schedule all traditional and non-traditional seasons, including practices and competitions; organize and administer all home events.
• Recruit and retain qualified student-athletes for both programs; establish and meet recruiting goals in collaboration with Athletics and Enrollment.
• Support and monitor student-athlete academic progress and success; meet departmental academic benchmarks.
• Manage all aspects of program budgets, including equipment, travel, and recruiting expenses.
• Hire, train, and supervise assistant coaches, student assistants, and team managers, as approved.
• Establish and enforce team standards related to conduct, discipline, and accountability.
• Promote safety and ethical conduct of the team.
• Serve as a spokesperson for the program and represent the college positively on campus and in the community.
• Ensure adherence to the rules, regulations and policies of all governing bodies- Juniata College Athletics, Juniata College, Landmark Conference and NCAA Division III
• Participate in overall administration of the Athletics Department by representing the office as requested and cooperatively assisting colleagues. This includes attending all mandatory department activities and functions, membership on department and campus committees, and participation upon request in enrollment, fundraising and/or promotional events.
• Serve as game/event manager as requested.
• Other duties as assigned by the Director of Athletics.

| Position Qualifications |
- Bachelor’s Degree required, Master’s preferred.
- Knowledge and understanding of NCAA rules, regulations, and the Division III philosophy.
- Three to five years of collegiate coaching &/or playing experience preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to teach, strategize, recruit, lead, manage, represent, and oversee a nationally competitive athletic program.
