The salary for this position is $160,000 (minimum) up to $180,000. Where the hired candidate will begin within this range is dependent on education, experience, and skills.

| Job Summary |
This position is housed in the athletic department and will report to the Athletic Director. It is the responsibility of the Head Men’s Basketball Coach to design, organize, implement, facilitate, oversee and evaluate all facets of a Big Sky, NCAA Division 1 Men’s Basketball program. Several components of this job include: recruiting, scheduling, camp coordination, public appearances and fund raising. This position provides monitoring, educational and supervisory components. This position will work closely with the athletic department support staff; Strength and Conditioning, Sports and Recreation, Compliance, Academics, Athletic Training and Business Office. This position must function within a shared facility structure and will work collaboratively with relevant constituent groups.
This position will be focused on the continued success of the Men’s Basketball program in relation to conference finish, academic awards, team athletic recognition, coach recognition and graduation rates. It is the responsibility of the Head Coach to study and know all policies and procedures integral to university, Big Sky and NCAA rules compliance. Will direct, develop and manage all aspects of Men’s Basketball including but not limited to: recruiting, talent evaluation, conducting training and development of student athletes within the team concept, scheduling, budget management, supervision of assistant coaches, facilitating academic monitoring, fund raising and community involvement/outreach.

| Required Qualifications |
Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
Minimum of five (5) years collegiate or professional coaching experience working with a men’s basketball program.
Must be able to obtain First Aid/CPR/AED certification within the first 60 days of employment.
Must be able to pass the NCAA Coaches Certification exam within the first 30 days of employment and annually thereafter.
Rules compliance is an important responsibility of this position. Employee shall support and comply with all applicable rules and regulations of the NCAA, the Big Sky Conference and other established bodies that govern intercollegiate athletics, Basketball and the university. In the event the employee becomes aware, or has reasonable cause to believe, that violations of rules compliance may have taken place, employee shall report same promptly to the Athletic Director, Compliance Coordinator, or his/her designee.

Master’s degree in a related field.
Experience as a collegiate or professional Head Men’s Basketball Coach.
Experience as an Associate Head Men’s Basketball Coach at the NCAA Division I or professional level.
Men’s Basketball coaching experience within the Big Sky Conference or commensurate level.
