Responsibilities :
The University of Louisiana at Lafayette Athletics Department is seeking a qualified Head Men’s Tennis Coach. This position will report directly to the Sr. Associate Director of Athletics for Compliance. This position directs all activities of the Men’s Tennis Program within NCAA, Sun Belt Conference, and UL Lafayette Policies, guidelines, and procedures. This position is responsible for maintaining high academic standards to support the academic development and graduation of student-athletes while focusing on student-athlete welfare; successfully directing the Men’s Tennis program to compete for NCAA Championships; recruiting student-athletes; maintaining a culture of personal accountability in student-athlete performance and conduct; and developing the plan and direction of all practices, travel, and game activities.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
-Execute all responsibilities as HeadMen’s Tennis Coach in a manner that reflects an ongoing commitment to the excellence, integrity and success of the Men’s Tennis program, the Athletic Department, and the University of Louisiana.
-Prepare and organize daily practice sessions and game preparation for competition.
-Organize and administer the recruiting of prospective student-athletes in accordance with the NCAA, Sun Belt Conference and the University of Louisiana policies and procedures.
-Engage in regular consultation with athletic trainers and team physicians to maximize the health and well-being of student-athletes.
-Promote the overall welfare of student-athletes at all times.
-Engage in regular consultation with strength and conditioning coach to schedule conditioning sessions to maximize student-athlete performance.
-Conduct the sport program by always promoting an atmosphere of compliance with all NCAA, conference, institutional and federal rules and regulations.
-Report all known or suspected violations of NCAA or conference regulations to the Compliance Office, any Associate AD, the Deputy AD/SWA, or the Director of Athletics.
-Maintain required compliance documents and other documents needed to demonstrate the principle of Head Coach Responsibility.

-Conduct the sport program so that each student-athlete is an integral part of the student body and his/her experience in athletics enhances the educational experience.
-Recommend through proper personnel procedures the hiring and/or termination of assistant coaches.
-Recommend and prepare the scheduling of all contests under the guidelines provided by budget, program scope, and all applicable Departmental guidelines, rules and regulations.
-Recognize the importance of promoting the sport to the general public.
-Recommend all expenditures for budget and authorize all expense vouchers; solely responsible for keeping expenditures within the budget.
-Demonstrate sportsmanship and the highest level of personal integrity.
-Maintain a firm commitment to the academic mission of the University and to the educational advancement of the student-athlete; directly responsible for the academic progress of all student-athletes on the team.
-Support the educational mission of the University and the professional obligation to enhance intercollegiate athletics by providing opportunities to educate students interested in this field.
-Serve as an ambassador of the University and its Athletics Department to all public entities.
-Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Required Qualifications:
-Bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited institution.
-Minimum of three (3) years of Men’s Tennis coaching or other comparable experience; preferably at a NCAA Division I Program.
Preferred Qualifications:
-Master'sdegree from a regionally accredited institution.
PERFORMANCE EXPECTATIONS: KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
+Exhibit excellent written and verbal communication, organizational, public
relations, interpersonal, customer service, and supervisory skills when working with student-athletes, faculty, staff, coaches, and
administration.
-Ability to multi-task and work cooperatively with others; commitment to working with multi-cultural populations.
-Have strong work ethic and be a person of high integrity and character who shares a commitment for knowing and complying with NCAA, Conference, and Institutional rules as they apply to the University of Louisiana at Lafayette Athletics program.
-Ability to work extended daily hours, evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
