Head Softball Coach

Missouri Valley College invites applications for the position of Head Softball Coach. This is a full-time position responsible for leading and growing a competitive intercollegiate softball program that aligns with the College’s mission of academic excellence, character development, and student success.

The Head Coach will oversee all aspects of the softball program, including recruiting, player development, academic success, and program administration. The successful candidate will demonstrate strong leadership, integrity, and a commitment to building a championship-caliber program both on and off the field.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan, organize, and direct all phases of the softball program
• Recruit and retain qualified student-athletes who align with Missouri Valley College’s mission
• Develop and implement effective training, practice, and competition strategies
• Monitor academic progress and promote student-athlete success in the classroom
• Manage program budget, scheduling, and travel
• Hire, supervise, and evaluate assistant coaches and support staff
• Ensure compliance with NAIA and conference rules and regulations
• Foster a positive team culture emphasizing sportsmanship, discipline, and personal growth
• Engage in fundraising, alumni relations, and community outreach efforts

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred
• Previous coaching experience at the collegiate level (head coaching experience preferred)
• Strong knowledge of softball skills, strategy, and player development
• Demonstrated success in recruiting student-athletes
• Excellent communication, organizational, and leadership skills
• Commitment to compliance with institutional, conference, and NAIA rules
• Ability to work evenings, weekends, and travel as required
