The Head Softball Coach will lead, operate, direct, and manage all aspects of a competitive and academically successful NCAA Division II Women's Softball Program at Georgia College & State University (GCSU), the state's designated Public Liberal Arts University, in accordance with University System of Georgia, Georgia College & State University (GCSU), Peach Belt Conference, and NCAA rules, regulations, and policies. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, scheduling, recruiting, practice planning and organization, game strategy, travel planning, budget management, supervision of assistant coaches, public and community relations, external fundraising, and the administration of camps and clinics. This is a highly visible position requiring effective engagement with students, faculty, staff, the Greater Milledgeville/Baldwin County community, and alumni. The successful candidate will support GCSU's commitment to recruiting and retaining high-achieving student-athletes consistent with the university's selective admissions standards.

Coaching and Program Administration - 50
- Plan, organize, and direct all practices, competitions, and travel logistics for the softball program.
- Develop and implement competitive game strategies, team preparation, and player development plans.
- Manage program budget, equipment, and facility scheduling in coordination with the Director of Athletics.
- Supervise assistant coaches and support staff; promote a culture of sportsmanship consistent with GCSU's Peach Belt Conference recognition as Institution of the Year for Sportsmanship.
Student-Athlete Recruiting - 25
- Identify, evaluate, and recruit prospective student-athletes through travel, on-campus visits, and correspondence.
- Recruit academically qualified student-athletes who meet Georgia College's selective admissions standards.
- Maintain ongoing communication with prospective student-athletes and their families throughout the recruitment process.
Academic Success and Compliance - 10
- Monitor student-athlete academic progress and support achievement consistent with GCSU's 94% NCAA Division II Academic Success Rate.
- Ensure full understanding of and adherence to all rules, regulations, and policies of the University System of Georgia, Georgia College & State University, the Peach Belt Conference, and the NCAA.
- Maintain required eligibility documentation and certifications.
Community Relations and Fundraising - 10
- Represent the softball program and Department of Athletics with professionalism in all public-facing activities and interactions.
- Engage students, faculty, staff, alumni, and the Greater Milledgeville/Baldwin County community to build program support and attendance.
- Collaborate with the Office of University Advancement to develop and execute an external fundraising strategy for the program and department.
Other Duties - 5
- Organize and administer softball camps and clinics in accordance with GCSU policies and procedures.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Athletics.

The minimum salary is $52,000. Starting salary will be based on relevant experience.
